SoleDry Hoof Powder FAQ

How much SoleDry powder should I use in hoof boots?

A little goes a long way. SoleDry generally recommend using 1–3 scoops, depending on the size of the hoof and boot setup. We have found that around 1 to 1½ scoops is ideal. Using too much powder can create excess build-up inside the boot and may affect the fit.

What is the best way to clean SoleDry from hoof boots or pads?
The easiest method is often to allow the powder to fully dry first. Adding a small amount of fresh powder can help absorb remaining moisture and return the clay to a dry, brushable state. Once dry, most residue can simply be brushed out. An antibacterial wipe also works well for cleaning the inside of hoof boots.
Can I apply SoleDry around the heel bulbs?
Yes. SoleDry can be applied lightly around the heel bulb area and may help keep the skin dry while reducing rubbing from new boots. In wet conditions, the powder will naturally dissolve and wash away.
Can SoleDry be used under pastern wraps?

A light application may work well under pastern wraps, particularly where neoprene wraps are trapping sweat and moisture. The powder can help keep the area drier and reduce friction. We recommend using only a small amount so the skin can still breathe.

As with any new product, patch testing first and checking the skin daily is advised to ensure the area remains comfortable and irritation-free.
