Trial-A-Boot: 14-Day Hoof Boot Trial Terms & Conditions
Trial-A-Boot: 14-Day Hoof Boot Trial
Finding the right hoof boots for your horse can be tricky. Even when a pair looks like a good fit at first, the only way to know for sure is to try them properly.
With our Trial-A-Boot 14-day hoof boot trial, you can use your boots before deciding whether you would like to keep, return or exchange them.
You can ride in the boots during your trial, giving you the chance to see how they perform in real life rather than making a decision based on fit alone.
How Trial-A-Boot Works
1. Add Trial-A-Boot when ordering your boots
When adding your boots to your basket, select Yes from the Trial-A-Boot 14-Day Trial dropdown on the product page.
2. Boots can be trialled individually (+ £25 trial fee) or in pairs (+ £50 trial fee).
3. Pay the full purchase price + trial fee per boot or pair.
4. You have 14 days from the day you receive the boots to test them out on your horse.
➥ You can ride in them, but do not use them for full turnout during this period.
➥ Keeping track of when your 14-day trial ends is your responsibility.
5. Notify us of your decision to Return or Keep the boots by the 14th day (when your trial ends).
➥ If you return the boots in brand-new condition, we refund the full purchase price plus the trial fee.
➥ If you return the boots in used condition - i.e. scuffed or worn in any way - we refund the full purchase price but retain the trial fee.
➥ If you decide to keep them, we will apply a non-refundable Store Credit to your Hoof Bootique account equal to half the trial fee paid (£12.50 per single boot or £25 per pair).
6. Need to exchange? let us know by the 14th day (when your trial ends).
➥ Return the boots to us in brand-new or used condition.
➥ If brand-new, your trial fee will roll over onto the new boots.
➥ If used - i.e. scuffed or worn in any way - we will retain the trial fee, and if you wish to trial the new boots, the fee will need to be charged again.
7. If you do not notify us of your decision by the end of the 14th day (when your trial ends), the boots are non-returnable and yours to keep, and Hoof Bootique will retain the full purchase price and trial fee.
Please contact us by email (admin@hoofbootique.co.uk or sales@hoofbootique.co.uk), Facebook Messenger, or WhatsApp (07396 716671) to notify us of your decision to keep, return or exchange your boots, or to discuss your trial in more detail, especially if you need help deciding whether the boots are right for your horse.
Trial-A-Boot FAQ
It depends! A Fit Kit is a great first step to check the sizing. After using a Fit Kit, many customers then opt for the Trial-A-Boot 14-day trial to see how the boots perform in real conditions. A proper road test is the only way to be sure, even if the boots appear to fit well initially. This is the “belt and braces” way to approach it.
If you need boots urgently, or if there only seems to be one possible size option in a particular brand, you may choose to trial the boots without first trying a Fit Kit.
Yes! Single boots are available to trial for a trial fee of £25 per boot - an ideal option for creating odd-sized pairs.
We will always send new boots. However, occasionally used boots in good condition may be available. If this is the case, we will contact you to offer them at a discounted purchase price, and a refund for the difference in purchase price will be issued if you agree to trial the used boots.
If you choose to trial used boots at the discounted purchase price, they cannot be swapped for new boots if you decide to keep them. You will still receive your Store Credit equal to half the trial fee paid if we were notified of your decision to keep them by the end of your 14-day trial period.
If you need to return used boots to us for a refund or exchange, we will retain the full trial fee paid if they have been returned in a different condition than they were sent in, i.e. more scuffed and worn. If they are returned in the same condition they were sent in, the trial fee paid will be refunded or rolled over onto a new exchange order.
We will make a record of the condition used boots were sent in with a photograph of the tread and upper portion of the boots.
Most standard, off-the-shelf hoof boots are available with Trial-A-Boot. Some sizes or styles may be unavailable. If the Trial-A-Boot option does not appear on the product page, that boot cannot be trialled.
Customised boots and colours other than black are not available with Trial-A-Boot - e.g. Custom TPU Flex Boots, coloured Renegade Vipers/Classics, coloured Cavallo Treks, coloured Flex Boots and Lemon Swiss Galoppers (see the FAQ below for information on how to swap hired Black boots for a colour). However, boots with coloured accessories can be trialled, such as Flex Boots or Scootboots, which offer different coloured accessory options.

There are some models of boots which come in different colours (e.g. coloured Renegade Vipers/Classics, coloured Cavallo Treks, coloured Flex Boots and Lemon Swiss Galoppers). These boots offer different coloured options for the actual body of the boot (not just accessories).
We will always send black boots for Trial-A-Boot, but they can be swapped for coloured boots afterwards. If you know you will want coloured boots, please order your desired colour when purchasing the trial.
If your trial is successful and you want a new pair in the same size in your chosen colour, let us know by the end of your 14-day trial period. We will retain your full trial fee and arrange a top-up payment to cover the cost of the coloured boots (if it hasn’t already been paid) and postage. Depending on the brand of boot, there may be a wait time for the coloured boots to arrive. For example, coloured Renegade are ordered from the USA and can take 3-4 weeks to arrive, whereas coloured Cavallo Treks may take 2-3 working days.
While waiting for the coloured boots, your trial for the black boots will be extended at no extra cost. Once the coloured boots arrive, we will notify you. You will then need to return the black boots at your expense, and we will ship the coloured boots once the black boots have been received.
Once your request to swap black boots for coloured boots has been confirmed, the order cannot be cancelled and the coloured boots cannot be returned.
Do feel free to get in touch to discuss trialling a specific coloured boot by email (admin@hoofbootique.co.uk or sales@hoofbootique.co.uk), Facebook Messenger, or WhatsApp (07396 716671).
No. Accessories that do not come as part of the trial boot must be purchased separately, and cannot be returned as part of a trial unless they are brand-new.
e.g. the accessories that make up a Flex Boot (gaiter & back strap) are included as part of the 14-day hoof boot trial. An accessory such as a Flex Pad, which will need to be purchased separately, is not included in the trial.
No, in most cases we cannot offer Trial-A-Boot for use over metal shoes. This is because it invalidates the warranty guarantee of most manufacturers.
The exception is Cavallo, but ONLY when boots are used with Cavallo Protection Pads. If you use Cavallo boots over metal shoes without the use of the Cavallo Protection Pad, this will invalidate their warranty guarantee and your trial will end.

If you wish to trial a pair of Cavallo boots to use over metal shoes, you MUST also purchase the Cavallo Protection Pads to use with them. In this scenario, we can accept back Cavallo Protection Pads that have been used as part of the 14-day trial, but we will retain 2/3 of the price paid for the pads.

The Cavallo Big Foot Boot will require the Big Foot Boot Protection Pads.
Your 14-day Trial-A-Boot period begins on the day your boots are delivered. Let us know by the end of the 14th day if you want to keep, return, or exchange them. If we do not hear from you and they have not been returned by the 14th day, the boots are yours to keep and the full trial fee paid (£25 per single boot or £50 per pair) will be retained by Hoof Bootique. If returning boots, please use an insured, trackable method, as they remain your responsibility until we confirm we have received them.
We highly recommend making sure you get a postage receipt when sending boots back to us.
See additional FAQs detailing how to notify us of your decision to keep your boots, or return them for an exchange or refund.
If you decide to keep your trial boots, you must notify us by the end of the 14th day of your 14-day trial period.
You can notify us by email (admin@hoofbootique.co.uk or sales@hoofbootique.co.uk), Facebook Messenger, or WhatsApp (07396 716671).
➥ If you keep your boots and have notified us by the end of the 14th day of your 14-day trial period, we will apply a non-refundable Store Credit to your Hoof Bootique account equal to half the trial fee you paid (£12.50 per single boot or £25 per pair).
So long as you are still within your 14-day trial period you can return or exchange your trial boots. Either return them to us within this 14-day period, or notify us of your intention to return them.
If we're notified within the 14-day period of your intention to return the boots, you then have 14 days from the day you notified us to return them to us.
You can notify us by email (admin@hoofbootique.co.uk or sales@hoofbootique.co.uk), Facebook Messenger, or WhatsApp (07396 716671).
Please note, if you are over your 14-day trial period and did not notify us of your intention to return them within the 14-day period, the boots are non-returnable and yours to keep.
Our return address is as follows:

Knapps Farm
Windmill Road

In the parcel, please include your completed trial paperwork, or a note detailing your name, order number and how you wish to proceed.
Return postage is at your expense. As the boots remain your responsibility until received by us, we recommend using a registered and insured service, as we cannot compensate for lost or damaged parcels.
We highly recommend making sure you get a postage receipt when sending boots back to us.
You are welcome to use our Royal Mail Returns Service to return boots to us. This service will not cost anything upfront, but a £5.95 fee will apply. This will be deducted from your refund or charged separately for exchange orders.
You can generate a label here: https://www.royalmail.com/track-my-return#/details/2953.
Once you've got a label, you just need to drop the parcel into your local post office or book a collection here: https://send.royalmail.com/collect/youritems.
If boots are returned in used condition, they must be clean and dry. Boots returned dirty will incur a cleaning fee depending on the extent of the dirt.
If you're having problems with your trial boots (e.g. twisting or coming off), please feel free to get in touch within your 14-day trial period and we'd be happy to help troubleshoot with you.
You can contact us by email (admin@hoofbootique.co.uk or sales@hoofbootique.co.uk), Facebook Messenger, or WhatsApp (07396 716671).
Your trial period will still be 14-days from the day you received the boots, so your trial will end on the 14th day unless an extension is agreed upon during troubleshooting. We can extend trials by up to 14 days, but where a trial has extended beyond the original 14-days:
➥ If you keep the boots: We will retain the full trial fee, and no Store Credit will be owed to you.
➥ If you want to return the boots: The purchase price is non-refundable, and the full trial fee will be retained regardless of the boots condition. The purchase price will be applied as a non-refundable Store Credit to your Hoof Bootique account, or rolled over onto an exchange order.
In some circumstances, we may be able to extend your trial period. Please contact us first by email (admin@hoofbootique.co.uk or sales@hoofbootique.co.uk), Facebook Messenger, or WhatsApp (07396 716671) to discuss this option.
If a trial is extended past 14 days:
➥ If you keep the boots: We will retain the full trial fee, and no Store Credit will be owed to you.
➥ If you want to return the boots: The purchase price is non-refundable, and the full trial fee will be retained regardless of the boots condition. The purchase price will be applied as a non-refundable Store Credit to your Hoof Bootique account, or rolled over onto an exchange order.
You are responsible for the hoof boots during your 14-day trial and Hoof Bootique will not refund you for lost or damaged boots.
If returned boots are damaged beyond fair wear and tear, the full trial fee will be retained, and the cost to repair them will be deducted from the purchase price paid for the boots. The remaining balance will be non-refundable and applied to your Hoof Bootique account as a Store Credit only.
Hoof Bootique retain the right to refuse a returned pair of boots if they are too damaged and cannot be repaired.
If boots are lost during your 14-day trial, we will not refund them.
If you believe you have been sent faulty boots, please get in touch so we can discuss this further. Our contact details are as follows: email (admin@hoofbootique.co.uk or sales@hoofbootique.co.uk), Facebook Messenger, or WhatsApp (07396 716671).
