Description
The FlexMini Ahti Back Strap is part of the FlexMini Ahti fastening system, designed to secure the boot at the back of the hoof while allowing natural movement.
It wraps over the heel bulbs and connects to both sides of the boot, helping keep the boot stable during use without restricting the natural expansion of the hoof.
Designed for secure, natural function
The Back Strap plays an important role in how the boot stays in place:
- Keeps the boot aligned during movement
- Supports the hoof without pressure or restriction
- Works together with the full Ahti fastening system
When correctly adjusted, it provides a secure hold while allowing the hoof to move as it should.
When to use:
Replacement Back Straps are available if...
- Your current strap is worn or damaged
- You need a spare set
- You are maintaining or rebuilding your boots
Each FlexMini Ahti boot includes a Back Strap I as standard, they do not come fitted with a Back Strap II.

The Ahti Back Strap II is a longer version of the original Ahti Back Strap, designed for horses with thicker pasterns or when additional length is needed for an optimal fit.
Fit & Adjustment:
For correct function...
- The strap should sit centered over the heel bulbs
- Approximately one finger should fit between the strap and the leg
- Excess length can be trimmed if needed
Correct adjustment ensures stability without restricting natural hoof expansion.
Material:
- Made from high-quality thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), combining flexibility, durability, and resistance to wear in daily use.
Care:
- Rinse or brush off dirt after use
- Allow to dry in a ventilated area
- Avoid harsh chemicals
- Avoid storage in high heat or enclosed spaces
