What hooves are the Adjust suitable for?

  • Scootboot Adjust will fit horses with high-heeled hooves and mules. They may also suit some horses with underrun heels and other hoof types not suitable for Scoot Boots.
  • The Scootboot Adjust shape mimics the Scoot Slim to accommodate these hoof types.
  • Scootboot Adjust are designed to fit comfortably for a full 6-week trim cycle.
  • The Scoot Adjust is an ideal choice for extreme long-distance rides, over 40 miles/ 60km.

Scoot Boot don't really recommend Adjust for jumping more than 90cm: any higher and there is too much torque on the bulb straps.

Can Scoot Pads and 3 Degree Wedge Pads be used with the Scootboot Adjust?

Yes. Please note as the hoof conformation changes, the fit of the Bulb Straps may need to be reviewed after the 3 Degree Wedge is no longer required.

What sized Mud Strap should I use?

Each Scootboot Asjust includes multiple sizes of Mud Straps to choose from, see the below chart for sizes.

Use a larger Mud Strap size for high/upright hooves, and a smaller Mud Strap size for low-heeled/low bulb hooves.

  • The Mud Strap should pull the bottom Front Strap slightly upwards to ensure the correct tension.
  • The Mud Strap is too big if there is no tension on the lower Front Strap.
  • The Mud Strap is too small if the lower Front Strap is bent upwards because of too much tension, which can cause rubbing.

Not sure if you need the Classic, Adjust or TheraRide Model?

With more models available, it’s natural to wonder if newer means better. Scoot Boot are seeing a trend where some riders are selecting TheraRide, believing it’s an upgraded version of the Scootboot Classic. However, it's important to know that the TheraRide isn’t an improvement, it’s a solution for specific needs.

Scootboot Classic → For healthy hooves and everyday riding. Lightweight, flexible, and designed for natural movement. If the hoof is healthy and within standard shapes, the Classic is the best choice.

Scootboot Adjust For hooves with fitting challenges, underrun heels or asymmetry. Adds extra securement points and adjustability while keeping the proven Classic design principles. If the hoof needs fitting adjustments due to conformation, the Adjust is ideal.

Scootboot TheraRide → For horses in rehabilitation or needing extra support. Heavier, with built-in padding and wedges. Ideal for therapy, not necessarily for performance or casual riding unless extra support is truly needed. If the horse needs rehabilitation support, then TheraRide is the right model.
