  • Easy to fit and highly adjustable

Explora Magic allows for a fully adaptable and personalised fit to the horse's hoof. Its rear part can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally, so it can be adapted to fit practically any hoof, or even changed to suit the growth cycle of your horse.

Vents allow for easy drainage while allowing the hoof to breathe and flex naturally within the boot, keeping the frog active and allowing natural, independent heel movement.

They can also be thermoformed (on the lower half of the boot wall) to adapt the boot for different angled and irregular hooves, although it is not usually necessary thanks to its multiple adjustment possibilities.

In addition, unlike other boots, the shape of the soles allows that, when the horse steps on the ground, the thrust force falls on the heel area (hard tissue naturally prepared for this purpose), instead of falling on the heel area of the bulbs (soft tissues that should not be subject to this type of pressure).

Really pleased with these boots, when on they don’t move, they don’t pull off in mud, there is no rubbing, best boots I’ve bought!

    Explora Magic

I use several brands of boots but the Exploras are my favourite so far. Decent grip, close fitting, plenty of adjustment, easily replaceable parts, pretty easy to put on (I usually stick them on most of the way and walk the pony across the yard before doing up, saves wrestling the shell on) with no velcro or fabric to catch burrs. The neoprene liner does a surprisingly good job at keeping grit off the pasterns, never once had a rub despite slogging through mud, streams, bracken and sand. I have been using them for a year of endurance riding and I hardly know the pony has them on as she moves so naturally over whatever terrain I point her at. I've only had a couple of losses over the year, all in circumstances a steel shoe might have flown off anyway, but far easier to replace!

    Explora Magic

Published by Linda on 4th May 2023

Purchased these as I was looking for a boot that provided better grip on slippery clay bridlepaths. I hoped that they would fit straight out of the box as my measurements were bang in the middle of the sizing but I needed to adjust them to the longer setting. Fiddly to set up but I am pretty rubbish at this sort of the thing and the video was invaluable in getting the correct fit. Really pleased with my first few hacks in them no rubbing and my horse seems really comfortable in them. A bit fiddly doing up the straps but gets easier every time I use them. Only negative comment is that the video says there are 2 neoprene gaiters per boot but that was a special offer and there is only 1 gaiter provided per boot but you can easily purchase them as extras. - Hi Linda, Thank you for leaving this review, it is great to hear that you are getting on well with the Exploras (even if they can be a bit fiddly as you get used to them)! We are sorry that the fitting video mentions receiving spare gaiters (which is not the case now). I can confirm this was a special offer from Explora from a few years ago and this video is now out of date (but the sizing advice on it is still accurate). Many thanks, The Hoof Bootique Team.

    Explora magic

It took an awful lot of fit kit boots to eventually find the correct fit. Thankfully with the help of Liz we chose the explorer magic and wow their amazing, he is just so happy and sure footed in them. We have only used a few times so far but the grip seems great and they look fab. The only thing I would say is their a little fiddly to do up due to his vast amount of feather but I am sure we will get to grips with it. I did have a lot of adjustments to do when they arrived as he was difficult to fit but this was easily done and so much flexibility to adjust them is brilliant. Only the initial adjustments required so now pop on and go. Thanks hoof boutique

    Explora magic boots

These are easily the best riding hoof boots I have ever owned! We go through all kinds of terrain including deep mud and they never come off or rotate. I had a few issues at the beginning in terms of selecting the right size for him and then setting them up but now that is done I just put them on and forget about them. Excellent boots and would definitely recommend them!

    A favourite for hard-to-fit hooves

Published by Ellen on 9th Aug 2022

Explora has turned out to be one of the most secure-fitting boots I have ever tried (and I have tried almost everything). The combination of a pastern strap and diagonal straps makes the fit extremely secure, also for horses with very powerful hind leg action or that tend to twist. The low sole vent gives some flexibility in hoof width fitting, and the pre-drilled holes for traction studs is a big plus. The split in the sole also means the boot flexes well with the hoof despite a very hard and durable sole material. The downside to the boot is the rather fiddly gaiter attachment inside the shell, and that the open toe design means this boot is best fitted to a horse with a high heel and short toe. Do not recommend for lighter types with low heels (for the opposite design, see Evo boots). The hardware quality is some of the best I have come across - really good, solid screws. Also really appreciate being able to add colourful gaiters - even though Explora remains the one brand of boot Ive never succeeded in losing even once! With the new 2022 style diagonal strap, they are also quicker and easier to fasten than previously. All in all a boot I can wholeheartedly recommend.
