The Easyboot Trail is the easiest hoof boot in the world to apply and remove - and one of the most affordable. This is a perfect hoof boot for the casual rider and it doubles as a therapy boot.
With a tough protective shield and padded neoprene band, it opens up completely to slip on and off over a variety of hoof shapes and sizes. The rear double hook and loop attachment protects the entire hoof wall, keeping the boot firmly in place.
The Trail hoof boots are the second generation trail hoof boots, and has been given a complete overhaul and significant improvements, many of which are shared by the New Mac (the updated version of the best selling Old Mac G2).
The trail has the Mac's unique high-tech performance out sole, incorporating the unique hoof suspension system. The sole of the hoof boot is constructed from a specially developed ThermoPlastic Urethane (TPU) compound, which absorbs shock and aids recovery from concussion related injuries, as well as helping to prevent them.
The trail features a more refined and improved upper, with a host of improvements over the original trail boot, making it far more secure and much more resilient to damage. These features include a snug strap included as standard, so the new trail is more suitable for faster work when used with this strap (but the New Mac is still recommended for tougher conditions or deeper going), this re-engineered back strap features high quality hook and loop instead of a buckle (on the old snug straps) making the strap much easier to use, especially with cold or stiff hands. This back strap is also removeable and replaceable, and can be reversed to make a boot fit a left or right hoof, so you can remove the strap to make the boot more similar to the old trail in terms of being simple to fit if required. The back flaps are now made with a superior hook and loop material, and give a thinner profile thus giving less room for debris to become trapped. The back now features the comfort cup of the back country boot, which not only gives a stronger back closure and thinner profile but also offers greater comfort and much reduced chance of rubbing when fitted correctly.
The upper of the New Trail Hoof boot is painted from the underside, so they will stay looking good, and larger rivets and a more rigid front shield make this boot much tougher than ever before! The upper roll on the New Trail now features the double neoprene roll as seen in the Transition hoof boots, the inner roll is a close weave to help prevent burrs sticking and embedding into the fabric that will be in contact with the pastern.
The New Trail horse boots can be fastened whilst the hoof is on the ground, so are ideal for horses that dislike having a hoof up for any period of time. New Trail boots open right out to allow entry of the foot. The new Trails come with full fitting instructions, and are sold individually. Comfort pads are advised for use in any hoof boot for the most natural and beneficial experience for your horse. For general use a 12mm medium Old Macs comfort pad is recommended for New Trail hoof boots.
A good choice for horses with slightly longer than wide hooves, but also usually work well on round and long hooves (inserts are needed for excessively long hooves, see Parts and Accessories).
Please note that the aren't ideal for horses with wider than long hooves. They are not intended for long distance or endurance riding as recommended for up to 25 miles, but can often be used for much longer periods depending on fit and terrain etc. The boots are supplied as singles

A - The Easyboot Trail is designed specifically for light and medium mileage riders who ride up to 25 miles per week.
Q - Why only 25 miles per week?
A - It is impossible to determine a one-size-fits-all mileage threshold because every horse is different, and so is every trail. So the 25-mile designation is not a scientific one. But just as you would not run a marathon in hiking boots, it does not mean that the hiking boots will always hurt your feet. Their size, shape and weight are simply designed for a different purpose. This is also true with the Easyboot Trail, which is designed specifically for the pleasure and trail rider.
Q - Where can I ride with the Easyboot Trail?

Q - Is the Easyboot Trail comfortable for my horse?
A - The sole shape is slightly longer than wide. This is an important feature allows more horses to wear the boots comfortably and securely.

Q - Can I turn my horse out wearing the Easyboot Trail?
A - Yes, you can turn your horse out in the Easyboot Trail either to get him used to wearing or breaking in the boots or to provide protection.
Q - Can I ride my horse with the Easyboot Trail over metal shoes?
A - Yes. If you intend to use the Easyboot Trail over metal shoes, take the hoof measurements after the horse is newly shod to ensure a correct size. Using them over metal shoes voids the EasyCare Guarantee.
Q - Are the Easyboot Trail boots worn on all four feet?
A - That is really personal preference. It depends on distance covered and type of terrain.
Q - Do I require the same size Easyboot Trail on the front and rears?
A - Not necessarily. Always take hoof measurements as soon as possible after a fresh trim and measure each hoof separately. Correct size selection and proper fitting are very important and will ensure maximum performance from Easyboot Trail hoof boots.
